Can they do it again?

This is almost the same team as the one that got to the national finals. So now they have reunited in there age group they are attempting to get that same success. There is one major difference the pressure! We are no longer the small underdogs! We are expected to do well! I'm sure all the boys are confident to do it again!

!!THE GAMES!!

April 27th
WIGTON v Egremont
4pts to Wigton-Egremont couldn't make it!
4pts in the bag but a match would have been better!
However we hade a practice match 8-a-side but 11 in the field. Chris Watt captained his side into bat first and Richard McConnell was at his side. A good first over from Michael Holliday saw only two from it, and Rik Nugent had warmed up to come down the hill. The aggression was probably greater than if we had played Egremont with a great desire to demolish your team-mates.
Rik bowled beautifully and got the wickets of Richard McConnell(2) and Stuart Varty(0) in his first over steaming down the hill. Richard was caught at mid-wicket of Riks worst bowl of the over but Stu was bowled by an absolute pearler! Craig Holliday came in and steadied the ship he an Cris retired, Chris(16), Craig(12). Liam Sutherland and Isaac Wilkins and were both bowled without troubling the scorers. However Laurie Halliman and John Bell two under 14's batted well to get the side to 53 after 14 overs.
Rik's side was chasing 53 and always looked like getting it after an explosive start by Jamie Tomlinson with his new bat, he retired on 17 with two huge 4's, Glen Liddle followed Jamie retiring on 10. Michael Holliday was caught by Rik helping out in the field for 3 off Chris Watt's bowling. Liam making a come back after his 'rest season' last year has seemed too grow two foot, got two wickets both caught at point by Chris. Andy Thomson was bowled by Chris, then Jonny Patrickson came to the crease and batted sternly, he saw Richard Gillespie get caught and then Rik came into clinch victory with the young under 13 who is gaining a lot of experience for years to come.
We played on despite the victory and saw Andy Thomsom with a great direct hit from mid-wicket to run Jonny out, Glenn Liddle came back in and got a quick four. And Laurie who put in a good performance with the bat bowled Rik Nugent providing much enjoyment for the under 14 player.
Despite the disapointment of Egremont not coming fun was had by all 16 that turned up!!!
